About me

Dan Irving

I learned how organizations work by running one. As a camp director in the Jewish community, I really cut my teeth and learned my chops when it comes to operations, organizational management, systems building, and compliance. I hired 80 people every year. I conducted hundreds of interviews. I supervised four programs simultaneously. I innovated programs like an inclusion program for campers with special needs.

In the process, I learned a lot and developed some consistent ideas that I hold as central and that have guided me ever since:

  • Human problems require human solutions.
  • Our best asset is feedback from others.
  • Self-awareness is one of the key elements of exercising good judgment.
  • Admit when you are wrong, apologize.
  • Understand things rather than fear them. Then get ready.

I am an actor, writer, singer, musician, and anthropologist. I am a proud father x 2.

I love to help people. And, I love to synthesize crazy and seemingly competing ideas into plans. Concrete actionable plans. And I love problem solving, figuring out ways to deal with the hardest challenges. My dad was a reporter and taught me how to look around the hidden corners and how to dig to the next level down. I customize, I adapt, and I work to achieve personalized results.
